Mirrors for trains
Rearview mirror systems for trains, manufactured by LARISA, take into account the special conditions of use during which they are exposed to high passing speeds, icing or wind gusts. Our mirrors are used in the most modern rail vehicles in Europe, including Deutsche Bahn trains, and have been subjected to the most demanding tests in a climatic chamber, electromagnetic immunity tests and vibration tests.
SERIES LUS02
The 02 series electric mirrors are intended primarily for trains and locomotives. A safe and solid construction guarantees the durability of this solution. The particularly quiet electric drive can be easily communicated with the vehicle controller. Due to the shape of the cabins in accordance with the UIC and TSI, the mirrors are placed in close proximity to the side window.
A characteristic feature of this product is the external rotation axis of the mirror, thanks to which the mirror does not replace the window assembly but only complements it, while the mechanism for closing/opening the mirror is hidden under the vehicle’s upholstery. Outside the vehicle there is only a housing with a mirror, which fits entirely within the vehicle’s gauge. The innovation of this solution is the implementation of an emergency mirror folding mechanism in the case of random events that prevent the mirrors from being folded automatically, so that the vehicle can continue driving.
SERIES LUS013
The 013 series electric mirror housing made of composites is mounted in place of all or part of the side window of the traction unit or locomotive cabin. The compact design integrates the mechanism with the housing, allowing for its quick installation in the cabin. A characteristic feature of this product is the mirror folding mechanism, which is invisible from the outside. Thanks to the internal rotation axis of the mechanism, when the mirror is closed, the housing is flush with the side silhouette of the vehicle.
The electric mirror opening/closing mechanism is exceptionally quiet.
The tight housing is equipped with an internal heated window through which the driver can comfortably observe the sides of the vehicle, even during the greatest frosts or snowstorms.
The mechanism of this series is equipped with a dual-function clutch enabling:
- emergency folding in case of problems, e.g. with power supply;
- locking the mirror after electrical closing, preventing it from being lifted due to negative pressure when a train enters a tunnel or passes another vehicle at high speed.
SERIES LUS013-01
The housing of the 013-01 series pneumatic mirror is made of composites and is mounted in place of all or part of the side window of the traction unit or locomotive cabin.
The compact design integrates the mechanism with the housing, allowing for easy and quick installation in the cabin.
A characteristic feature of this product is the mirror folding mechanism, which is invisible from the outside. Thanks to the use of an internal rotation axis of the mechanism, similarly to the 017 series, when the mirror is closed, the housing is flush with the side silhouette of the vehicle.
The mechanism driven by a pneumatic actuator guarantees a backlash-free and rapid opening and closing cycle of the mirror.
In case of problems with the compressed air supply, the product has a pressure mechanism, the purpose of which is to prevent the mirror from being lifted due to the negative pressure when the train enters the tunnel or passes another vehicle at high speed.
This series of mirrors is characterized by extremely low weight and the possibility of full service access from inside the cabin.
The tight housing of the mirror is equipped with an internal heated glass, through which the driver can comfortably observe the sides of the vehicle even during the greatest frosts and snowstorms.
SERIES LUS015
The 015 series mirror mechanism is made of aluminum alloys and partially mounted under the vehicle’s skin. The unusual design of this mirror is a combination of solutions used in locomotives and trams.
A characteristic feature of this product is an innovative combination of solutions from trams and rail buses, and thanks to the addition of a special overload clutch, it allows the driver to have an emergency exit through the side window. The mechanism driven by a pneumatic actuator guarantees a backlash-free and rapid opening and closing cycle of the mirror.
In case of problems with the compressed air supply, we have equipped this series of products with a pressure mechanism, the purpose of which is to prevent the mirror from being torn up by the negative pressure caused by the train entering the tunnel or passing another vehicle at high speed.
SERIES LUS017
The housing of the 017 series pneumatic mirror is made of composites and mounted in place of all or part of the side window of the traction unit or locomotive cabin. The compact design integrates the mechanism with the housing, allowing for easy and quick installation in the cabin. A characteristic feature of this product is the mirror folding mechanism, which is invisible from the outside. Thanks to the use of an internal rotation axis of the mechanism, similarly to those in the 013 series, when the mirror is closed, the housing is flush with the side silhouette of the vehicle. The mechanism driven by a pneumatic actuator guarantees a backlash-free and rapid opening and closing cycle of the mirror.
In case of problems with the compressed air supply, we have equipped this series of products with a pressure mechanism, the purpose of which is to prevent the mirror from being lifted due to the negative pressure when the train enters the tunnel or passes another vehicle at high speed.
The tight housing is equipped with an internal heated glass, through which the driver can comfortably observe the sides of the vehicle even during the greatest frosts or snowstorms..
